{"id":1932,"date":"2011-06-09T12:16:30","date_gmt":"2011-06-09T17:16:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/profs.wisc.edu\/?p=1932"},"modified":"2011-06-09T12:16:30","modified_gmt":"2011-06-09T17:16:30","slug":"legislative-update-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/profs.wisc.edu\/?p=1932","title":{"rendered":"Legislative Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Joint Finance Committee is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wispolitics.com\/1006\/110608JFCexec.pdf\">meeting today<\/a> in executive session at noon to consider two items &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.wisconsin.gov\/2011\/data\/SB-93.pdf\">Senate Bill 93<\/a> (concealed carry) and <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.wisconsin.gov\/2011\/data\/SB-27.pdf\">Senate Bill 27<\/a> (2011-13 state budget). The committee is expected to add language to the proposed concealed carry legislation that would require training and permitting in order to carry a concealed weapon, restrictions missing from the <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.wisconsin.gov\/2011\/data\/lc_amdt\/sb093.pdf\">current bill<\/a>. PROFS has registered in opposition to this bill.<\/p>\n<p>The committee will also approve the amended Senate version of the budget bill, one that mirrors the already-approved Assembly budget bill.
