Finkelmeyer spoke to several UW-Madison faculty members including PROFS President Bill Tracy. Tracy argues that regardless of who wins the election, the state must reinvest in public higher education in order to improve the state&#8217;s job growth and economy:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe\u2019re in a divided and unstable time, and I really hope no matter what  happens that after the elections we can move forward and make higher ed a  priority. Basically, everybody agrees that to be  competitive in the information age and the high-tech age, people need to  develop skills.
