Legislative primaries in Wisconsin will now be held on the second Tuesday in August &#8212; this year, August 14. The date was moved from September as part of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=1&amp;ved=0CF4QFjAA&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fdocs.legis.wisconsin.gov%2F2011%2Frelated%2Facts%2F23.pdf&amp;ei=QuAGUMqjHIys8ATJypD5Bw&amp;usg=AFQjCNFu9dkFWMt6OFuodzQhYyRBUOD53g\">Act 23<\/a> passed last year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>80th Assembly District <\/strong>&#8212; The <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.wisconsin.gov\/ltsb\/redistricting\/PDFs\/ad80.pdf\">newly-drawn 80th AD<\/a> now includes parts of Verona, Mt. Horeb, Oregon, Belleville, New Glarus, Blue Mounds, Ridgeway, and Barneveld. The Democratic primary includes Charles Uphoff, a former member of the Fitchburg City Council and Oregon School Board; former State Representative Joe Wineke; and Representative Sondy-Pope Roberts, who currently represents the 79th Assembly District. Redistricting has put her in the 80th.<\/p>\n<p>PROFS will host a forum featuring these candidates at <strong>7 pm on Monday, July 30<\/strong> at the Verona Senior Center, 108 Paoli Street. The forum will allow for opening and closing statements and questions from a moderator. Refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n<p><strong>47th Assembly District<\/strong> &#8212; The <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.wisconsin.gov\/ltsb\/redistricting\/PDFs\/ad47.pdf\">newly-drawn 47th AD<\/a> now includes parts of Fitchburg, McFarland, and Monona. Two Democrats will be on the August 14 ballot &#8212; Amanda Hall, a recent law school graduate and Robb Kahl, attorney and former mayor of Monona.<\/p>\n<p>The forum featuring these candidates will be held at <strong>7 pm on Wednesday, August 1<\/strong> at the Fitchburg Community Center, 5510 Lacy Road.
