The forum is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>The forum features three experts on the state budget process &#8212; La Follette School of Public Affairs professor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lafollette.wisc.edu\/facultystaff\/reschovsky-andrew.html\">Andrew Reschovsky<\/a>, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vc.wisc.edu\/Biography.html\">Darrell Bazzell<\/a>, and City of Madison Finance Director and former State Budget Director <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cityofmadison.com\/news\/view.cfm?news_id=2753\">David Schmiedicke<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Questions for discussion include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>How will block grant funding for the university work?<\/li>\n<li>How does Governor Walker&#8217;s tax cut proposal affect the overall budget?<\/li>\n<li>Can UW-Madison create its own pay plan?<\/li>\n<li>Is there performance-based funding for higher education in the budget?<\/li>\n<li>What is the timeline for the budget and can the budget change?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There will be ample time for questions from the audience.<\/p>\n<p>Legislative Fiscal Bureau budget papers can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.wisconsin.gov\/lfb\/publications\/Budget-Papers\/Pages\/Budget%20Papers.aspx\">here<\/a> once they are published.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PROFS will host a public forum to discuss the 2013-15 state budget at noon on Tuesday, March 12 in the Wisconsin Idea Room in the Education Building.
