The committee passed omnibus motions on <a href=\"http:\/\/app.blastnewsletters.com\/link.php?M=105860&amp;N=7697&amp;L=169484&amp;F=H\">taxes<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/app.blastnewsletters.com\/link.php?M=105860&amp;N=7697&amp;L=169486&amp;F=H\">public education<\/a>, having passed an omnibus motion on <a href=\"http:\/\/wispolitics.com\/1006\/130604JFCmotion584.pdf\">Medicaid<\/a> earlier Tuesday. The sweeping motions cut income taxes and reduce the number of tax rates in the state, expand private school choice statewide, increase per pupil spending by $150, and reject federally-funded health care expansion.<\/p>\n<p>In its final action this morning, the committee voted for a <a href=\"http:\/\/wispolitics.com\/1006\/130605Wrap.pdf\">wrap-up motion<\/a> on a range of topics. The motion directs the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wisconsinwatch.org\/about\/what-we-do\/\">Center for Investigative Journalism<\/a> to leave its office on the UW-Madison campus. The center is a non-profit organization that collaborates with UW-Madison&#8217;s School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Wisconsin Public Radio, and Wisconsin Public Television.
