PROFS president Bill Tracy:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;(I)t is time to start addressing the serious pay gaps that exist for faculty and other employees. PROFS supports the 1% per-year plan as an important step in the right direction, even though it falls well short of what we truly need to be competitive&#8221;<strong> <\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Office of State Employment Relations <a href=\"http:\/\/wispolitics.com\/1006\/130625OSERletter.pdf\">requested<\/a> a one-percent increase in each of the next two years for state employees, including faculty at UW-Madison.
