King Alexander<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Louisiana State University President and Chancellor <a href=\"http:\/\/sites01.lsu.edu\/wp\/chancellor\/incoming-chancellor-f-king-alexander\/\">F. King Alexander<\/a> will visit UW-Madison tomorrow, Friday, January 17, for a discussion of federal oversight in higher education, including President Obama&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/issues\/education\/higher-education\/college-score-card\">College Scorecard<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Alexander was named to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.insidehighered.com\/news\/2012\/10\/31\/lsu-system-merges-president-and-chancellor-job-unify-system\">newly-merged position<\/a> of LSU Chancellor\/ LSU System President last year. He received his Ph.D in higher education administration from UW-Madison and served as president of California State University-Long Beach before arriving in Louisiana. He also served as president of Murray State University in Kentucky.<\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"http:\/\/wiscape.wisc.edu\/wiscape\/events\/event-details\/2014\/01\/17\/default-calendar\/coffee-and-conversation-with-lsu-president-f.-king-alexander\">event<\/a>,\u00a0sponsored by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wiscape.wisc.edu\/\">WISCAPE<\/a>, the Wisconsin Center for the Advancement of Postsecondary Education, will be held at 9 am in Room 290 <a href=\"http:\/\/map.wisc.edu\/s\/m5t1nu\">Education<\/a>.
