{"id":7305,"date":"2015-04-24T07:25:45","date_gmt":"2015-04-24T12:25:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/profs.wisc.edu\/?p=7305"},"modified":"2015-04-24T07:25:45","modified_gmt":"2015-04-24T12:25:45","slug":"joint-finance-committee-update-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/profs.wisc.edu\/?p=7305","title":{"rendered":"Joint Finance Committee Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Joint Finance Committee has met three times in recent weeks to vote on motions related to the 2015-17 biennial budget (<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.legis.wisconsin.gov\/2015\/proposals\/sb21\">Senate Bill 21<\/a>). Committee Co-chair\u00a0Representative John Nygren (R-Marinette) said Wednesday\u00a0he did not expect to meet next week, as the committee\u00a0waits on revised revenue estimates due in early May.<\/p>\n<p>Legislative leaders have <a href=\"http:\/\/profs.wisc.edu\/?p=7249\">previously said<\/a> they would direct additional revenue, if available, toward K-12 education, transportation needs, and the University of Wisconsin System.
