{"id":7545,"date":"2015-09-15T18:23:39","date_gmt":"2015-09-15T23:23:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/profs.wisc.edu\/?p=7545"},"modified":"2015-09-15T18:23:39","modified_gmt":"2015-09-15T23:23:39","slug":"uw-madison-proposal-on-faculty-layoff-policy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/profs.wisc.edu\/?p=7545","title":{"rendered":"UW-Madison Proposal on Faculty Layoff Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Wisconsin-Madison <a href=\"https:\/\/www.secfac.wisc.edu\/university-committee.htm\">University Committee<\/a>&nbsp;approved a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.secfac.wisc.edu\/Chapter_10_Proposed.htm\">proposal<\/a> outlining faculty layoff policies Monday.&nbsp;The policy, written by an ad hoc faculty committee, replaces Faculty Policies and Procedures (FPP) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.secfac.wisc.edu\/FPP_ch_10.htm\">Chapter 10<\/a> and is consistent with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aaup.org\/\">American Association of University Professors<\/a> (AAUP) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aaup.org\/issues\/tenure\">guidelines<\/a>. A second reading and possible vote could be scheduled as early as the November 2 senate meeting.
