Many legislative leaders have called for the University of Wisconsin System, and UW-Madison in particular, to operate more like a business, often citing shared governance as a major impediment to institutional efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Our panel of nationally known experts will guide our discussion.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coe.arizona.edu\/content\/rhoades-gary-d\">Gary Rhoades<\/a>, University of Arizona Professor, Director of the Center for the Study of Higher Education, former General Secretary AAUP<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.drake.edu\/presidentemeritus\/\">David Maxwell<\/a>, Drake University President Emeritus, Association of Governing Boards Senior Consultant<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wisconsin.edu\/regents\/about-the-regents\/\">Regina Millner<\/a>, University of Wisconsin System Regent, Board President Emeritus<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aascu.org\/policy\/ThomasHarnisch\/\">Thomas Harnisch<\/a>, American Association of State Colleges and Universities Director of State Relations and Policy Analysis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/staff\/10051368\/karen-herzog\/\">Karen Herzog<\/a>, <em>Milwaukee Journal Sentinel<\/em> higher education reporter, will moderate.<\/p>\n<p>This event is free and open to the public.
