{"id":8560,"date":"2019-07-01T11:19:04","date_gmt":"2019-07-01T16:19:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/profs.wisc.edu\/?p=8560"},"modified":"2019-07-01T11:19:04","modified_gmt":"2019-07-01T16:19:04","slug":"badgers-united-on-upfront","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/profs.wisc.edu\/?p=8560","title":{"rendered":"Badgers United on UpFront"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Amber Schroeder, executive director of <a href=\"https:\/\/badgersunited.org\/\">Badgers United<\/a>, recently appeared on WISN&#8217;s UpFront (below) to discuss the group&#8217;s advocacy efforts on behalf of UW-Madison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/madison.com\/wsj\/news\/local\/education\/university\/badgers-united-launches-to-lift-tuition-freeze-advocate-for-uw\/article_90f63997-c533-5617-b777-21b5b93d2c2c.html\">Launched<\/a> last month, Badgers United was formed to educate the public on the economic impact of UW-Madison and encourage greater state funding for the university. The group&#8217;s board of directors includes many prominent alumni, including former Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig and John and Tashia Morgridge, major donors to UW-Madison. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Schroeder told UpFront host Adrienne Pedersen that UW-Madison contributes $24 for every dollar of state support it receives.
