{"id":938,"date":"2010-11-15T12:02:22","date_gmt":"2010-11-15T17:02:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/profs.wisc.edu\/?p=938"},"modified":"2010-11-15T12:02:22","modified_gmt":"2010-11-15T17:02:22","slug":"flexibility-for-the-university-in-the-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/profs.wisc.edu\/?p=938","title":{"rendered":"Flexibility for the University in the News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UW-Madison and the Badger Partnership continue to play a prominent role in the media.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, Chancellor Martin received public support for increased flexibility from one of her predecessors, former UW-Madison chancellor Donna Shalala. Shalala, president of University of Miami, was recently interviewed by Art Hackett of Wisconsin Public Television. The interview aired on <em>Here and Now <\/em>and can be viewed below<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>While Shalala didn&#8217;t specifically mention the Badger Partnership by name, she advocated for increased flexibility, especially in light of decreased state support of higher education. An in-depth <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailypage.com\/isthmus\/article.php?article=31219\">article<\/a> outlined her plan<em> &#8212; &#8220;Biddy&#8217;s Bold Agenda&#8221;<\/em> &#8212; for the university.
