Governor Scott Walker announced last week that he will deliver his State of the State address on Tuesday, February 1. While Walker’s speech will probably not give a full set of specifics, it should offer some clues to the budget ahead. A formal budget address is expected sometime in late February, followed by the introduction of the bill, which will be referred to the Joint Finance Committee.
PROFS invites all faculty, staff, and students to a Budget Roundtable on Thursday, February 10. The event will be held in the Wisconsin Idea Room in the Education Building, 1000 Bascom Mall, at 4 pm. Conversation at the roundtable will focus on the state budget process and timeline, with more information soon.

The budget process is lengthy, stretching into the summer. PROFS will aggressively work to protect and advance the best interests of the faculty.
