Governor Scott Walker will deliver his State of the State address at 7 pm this evening. It will be broadcast live on public radio and television, with a live webstream on wpr.org. While Walker’s address is expected to be light on specifics, hints about the upcoming 2011-13 biennial budget might be offered. Walker plans to introduce the budget on February 22.
PROFS has already met with representatives from Governor Walker’s staff, and will continue to communicate with him regarding issues critical to teaching and scholarship at UW-Madison. We are also working closely with the University Committee and other constituencies to develop a set of principles to guide negotiations between the university and state, with shared governance at the forefront.
