PROFS unequivocally supports present UW admission policies and we will work to uphold them. PROFS also assures the community that no changes to admissions practices will take place outside the shared governance process. What UW is doing is legal. Our admissions practices consider the entire application. We do not employ quotas; they are illegal. Rather, we look for applicants who are judged “fit to succeed” at Madison—and admit them. Finally as a community of scholars we are unimpressed with the quality of the CEO report and much less so by its overblown conclusions.
