The Capital Times: Federal Shutdown Threatens $36 million to UW-Madison

Pat Schneider writes in The Capital Times that the federal shutdown threatens $36 million federal funding to UW-Madison. Schneider spoke with PROFS lobbyist Jack O’Meara and references a letter from PROFS president Bill Tracy to the Wisconsin Congressional delegation in the article.

O’Meara told Schneider that researchers have met with Chancellor Becky Blank and are working to ensure research continues: “We want to make sure contracts continue, the awards we’re expecting arrive, the bills get paid and that there is staff available at the federal level. People at the university are constantly working with people in the federal agencies.”
