Resources for Retirement Planning

Proposed changes in state employee benefits have led many faculty to contact PROFS with questions about how these changes may affect them as individuals. While we cannot offer personal advice, we can encourage you to consult the many resources available to you.

If you are retired or considering retirement soon, the Wisconsin Coalition of Annuitant‘s annual conference might be of interest. The conference will be held from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on Monday, May 16 at the American Family Center in Madison. Registration is $30 and space is limited. If you are considering retirement, the online course, “Planning for Retirement: Exploring Your Career and Leisure Options,” may help you as you make your decision. The course, which consists of 18 units and is completed at your own pace within six months, costs $325. More information is available here.

The Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) is experiencing a very high volume of contacts from employees considering retiring on short notice.
