Regent Jose F. Vásquez’s reappointment to the UW System Board of Regents was confirmed by the Wisconsin State Senate on January 21. Vásquez, who hails from Wauwatosa, was originally appointed by Governor Jim Doyle in February, 2008 to complete a term ending May 1, 2009. He serves as Vice-Chair of the Education Committee.
Vásquez is the chief executive officer of the Felician Sponsored Ministries in Milwaukee and previously worked at Next Door Foundation and UW-Extension. He received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas an a Master’s in Educational Rehabilitation Counseling from UW–Milwaukee.
