PROFS will host a public forum of candidates in the Democratic primary for the 77th Assembly District on Wednesday, August 25 at 7 pm.
The 77th Assembly District includes much of campus, the west side of Madison, and parts of Middleton. A map of the district is here.
The forum will be held in Room 1325 in the Health Sciences Learning Center. Political Science professor Ken Mayer will moderate. Audience members will be able to contribute questions at the forum, but we encourage you to leave questions in the comments section below.
Five Democrats will be on the ballot on September 14: Dianne Hesselbein, Brett Hulsey, John Imes, Fred Wade, and Doug Zwank. Hesselbein and Hulsey currently serve on the County Board, Zwank is a former mayor of Middleton, Imes is executive director of the Wisconsin Environmental Initiative, and Wade is an attorney. The Capital Times recently published a piece on the environmental credentials of the candidates.
The top vote-getter will face Republican David Redick, Constitution Party candidate David Olson, and Green Party candidate Ben Manski in November. PROFS plans to offer a second forum with the general election contenders in October.
