We have noted here recently that the Faculty Senate was going to vote today on a resolution supporting Rep. Kelda Helen Roys’ Smart Furlough bill (AB 551, full text available here). At the meeting this afternoon, it passed — unanimously, as far as I could see. The resolution is here.
In anticipation of that vote, madison.com ran a nice piece by Deborah Ziff (here), with a good, clear statement by Jack O’Meara of PROFS about why we support the bill.
