The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents will meet in a regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, November 8. The full meeting will include a morning presentation on higher education and economic prosperity by guest speakers Anthony Carnevale and Rebekah Kowalksi. Carnevale is a research professor and director of the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce and Kowalski is a principal consultant for strategic workforce consulting at Right Management, a Manpower company.
The regents will also discuss and consider a resolution to approve an accountability reporting framework for Division 1 athletic programs (UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee, and UW-Green Bay). UW System President Kevin Reilly requested that each institution have policies in place that would ensure full communication with its chancellor, the president of UW System, and the Board of Regents.
The regents also named committees, including the Special Committee for the UW-Madison Chancellor Search. The committee will be chaired by Charles Pruitt. Other members are Regina Millner, Katherine Pointer, Brent Smith, and David Walsh. Smith is president of the board and Pointer is the student regent representing traditional students.
