In Memoriam: Don Nichols

Former University Committee and PROFS chair Don Nichols passed away last Friday, February 15.

Nichols, an emeritus professor of economics,  joined the faculty in 1966 and served the university on and off for 40 years. He was appointed director of the La Follette School of Public Affairs in 2001, a position he held until his retirement in 2006. Nichols was active in retirement, serving as chairman of Thompson Plumb Funds and as a member of the Academic Advisory Board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Nichols is survived by his wife, son, daughter, and granddaughter. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
